Find A Local Chapter
In Your Parish

Parish By Parish

Local chapters are where the real work of LaCAC happens. Local volunteers educate themselves on how their local libraries are governed, what the process is for book and materials challenges, and how to inform their friends and neighbors about what's going on at their local libraries. When attacks on libraries, librarians, and the right to read happen, local volunteers mobilize, sending out information on meeting times and places, marshalling speakers, and informing the public and their media contacts on what agenda items are up for vote. Censorship may be a national issue, but this is where the true battles happen, and these are our fighters.
